Madeline Spivey
Madeline Spivey has been dancing since the age of five and is trained in ballet, modern, and contemporary. She holds an MA in English from James Madison University and a BA in English and Sociology from Messiah College, where she also earned a minor in music and regularly performed with the Department of Theatre and Dance. Before that, she trained and performed with Pennsylvania Regional Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Regional Dance America, and the International Ballet Competition Summer School. More recently, Madeline has taught with Proclaim Performing Arts in central Pennsylvania and the Harrisonburg Parks & Recreation Dance program. She is passionate about interdisciplinary inquiry and enjoys considering how her interests in critical theory, somatics, and textual representations of the body inform her movement practice.
